Berlin College of Further Education for Information Technology and Medical Equipment Technology

Dear visitors!

Welcome to the homepage of Oberstufenzentrum Informations- und Medizintechnik (OSZ IMT), Berlin!

The College
The Berlin College of Further Education for Information Technology and Medical Equipment Technology is a type of school at upper secondary level that is comprised of various vocational schools offering courses in both general and vocational education subjects at grades 11 to 13. Information technology or medical equipment technology is part of all courses. Due to our concept of integrated teaching, all members of the teaching staff teach in all types of schools and courses according to their qualifications. All teachers are fully trained university graduates.

Main features of courses
Vocational education at this college places special emphasis on IT-hardware, software development, networking, electronics and medical equipment engineering. Depending on differences in the curricula of courses, subjects like Art, modern languages, Physics, Chemistry, History and Political Science are also taught alongside technical subjects. Students at our specialised grammar school attend advanced courses in IT or medical informatics. The college encourages and supports cross-subject teaching and team-oriented cooperation among students and teachers.

Technical equipment
We maintain very high standards for our technical equipment used in classrooms or laboratories. More than 1.000 computers are fully networked with access to the internet in support of efficient and practice-oriented teaching. Especially our Cisco-Academy offers the highest possible technical standards.

Students and teaching staff
Our college was founded in 2002 and is the biggest school of its kind in Berlin with around 3.000 students and 160 teachers. Our students are, on average, between 16 and 22 years old.

Cooperation
If you are interested in a school partnership or other ways of cooperation, we will be very glad to hear from you. We think that it is extremely important for our students to be fully acquainted with the processes and challenges of globalisation in order to enable them for successful professional careers or for admission to other institutions of higher education.
